Vroeger, toen de lucht nog schoon was het het rivierwater drinkbaar, was de triple van TA dé standaard op elke high-end tourfiets. Ze zijn licht, hebben een kleine Q, (pedalen staan dicht bij elkaar) waren overal verkrijgbaar. De triples werken het best voor een 'half-step and granny' configuratie (dan ish et middelste blad een paar tanden kleiner dan de grote...) Je moet wel rekening houden met de nauwe ruimte tussen grote blad en crank. Je kunt de configuratie ook gewoon dubbel maken.
